Velvet Matte is a new sub-series of the Vitrail series. It is matte-formulated glazes produced on the Vitrail white stoneware clay body.

The Velvet Matte tiles have a rich velvet finish. The glazes are slightly crazed, but because of the matte-like texture of the glaze, the crazing is hard to detect with the naked eye. The Velvet Matte glazes are vaguely transparent, as you can see some of the white clay through the glaze.

We recommend that a penetrating sealer be applied to the tiles once a year in shower and kitchen counter applications.

Variation in color is an inherent quality of the Vitrail series, and in turn, the Velvet Matte series. Colors vary on each individual tile and from tile to tile in the same production batch, creating a beautiful blend of color in any installation.
