The Chateau Series is terra cotta tile with a white slip of clay (engobe) on top, with cushioned edges and beautiful transparent glazes. The glaze was developed to promote crackling or crazing in the glaze surface. Crazing takes place when the top transparent glaze crackles. The crackling of the glaze happens over time. It may take 12 to 24 months before the full effect of the crackle is complete. The crackle finish approximates the look of old world tiles.

The Chateau series tiles are suitable for bathroom installations and light use countertop applications. The are not recommended for kitchen counters.
